WAR
Going to the bottom
a heaviness upon one
Two three
the difficulty of walking
not knowing what it’s for
is it really just
her not being
here no more
imagining ending
so no destination from afar
just this
And the consequences
of the dead ending
The epic turning out
everything to nowhere
leaving the larder bare
the eyes emptying
to a vacant stare
knowing only
that in fact it’s fair
reaping the harvest
after a desert drought
Growing too close to the sun
and now finally left disabled
unable to run
O Lord help me
go through the darkness
following your star
And you Will replenish
the store
In faith
And that peace
and love
will come
after the war
